Odda
In Odda, the only city in Hardanger, they have long tourism and industry traditions, and it is not without reason that increasingly more people are visiting the charming town.
Ullensvang is Norway’s outdoor capital - here, the distance between great nature and cultural experiences is short. In recent years, the rock formation and the hiking destination Trolltunga have made Odda and Ullensvang one of the most popular travel destinations in Norway.
In 20 years, Odda has transformed from being what Lonely Planet referred to as "the ugliest town in Norway" to becoming a recognized destination for nature and culture enthusiasts from all over the world. Here, everything is arranged for the close and spectacular outdoor life, regardless of whether you climb the highest peaks or sit on a bench by the fjord.
In addition to the national icon Trolltunga, Odda can boast beautiful hikes and stunning surroundings. In Sørfjorden, you will find Norway’s perhaps largest orchard. The cider and fruit farms lie close to each other in between hundreds of thousands of apple, sweet cherry, plum and pear trees. It is also an ideal place if you want to experience the rich cultural history of Hardanger. One good tip is to drive along the Norwegian Scenic Route Hardanger. It covers a large part of Ullensvang and allows you to get close to the unique landscape the outdoor capital and Odda has to offer.
