New three-year agreement with TV 2 secured
Tour of Norway and TV 2 have extended their broadcasting rights agreement for another three years. This year, the world's best cyclists and teams will come to Norway from May 29 to June 1, with both men's and women's races. The event will be broadcast live on TV 2 and TV 2 Play, making it accessible to the entire Norwegian population.
TV 2, through its fantastic broadcasts with skilled commentators, has played a key role in developing Tour of Norway into more than just a cycling race, it has also become a showcase of sights, nature, and spectators. This has been a significant factor in making cycling a popular sport in Norway. TV 2 has broadcasted every edition of Tour of Norway since 2011, and since 2016, long-term agreements have provided stability for the continued development of the race.
Event director Roy Hegreberg is very pleased with the agreement, which holds great importance for Norwegian cycling.
– We look forward to continuing our close collaboration with TV 2. A three-year agreement provides predictability, allowing us to further develop the event for our partners in the years to come. One of the key goals of Tour of Norway is to showcase cycling to the Norwegian public. We achieve this not only out on the course but also through TV 2’s broadcasts. We hope this will inspire children, young people, and adults to use bicycles for transportation, training, racing, or simply for the experience, says Hegreberg.

“The combination of fjords and mountains, rural villages and cities, top-level competition, and enthusiastic spectators creating a festival atmosphere makes it a unique race that we always look forward to broadcasting.”
– Ingrid Marie Zeiner, Head of Sports Rights, TV 2
TV 2's continued partnership with Tour of Norway reflects its ongoing commitment to Norwegian sports. Ingrid Marie Zeiner, Head of Sports Rights at TV 2, shares why the Tour of Norway is important for the channel:
– Tour of Norway has been a key cycling race for TV 2 for many years. The combination of fjords and mountains, rural villages and cities, top-level competition, and enthusiastic spectators creating a festival atmosphere makes it a unique race that we always look forward to broadcasting. It is especially exciting that women will also be competing this year for the first time. This year’s route is varied and challenging, and it will be thrilling to follow the duels between Norwegian and international cycling stars. We are looking forward to Tour of Norway 2025, hopefully filled with excitement over several hundred kilometers of spectacular scenery!
