Superstar Returns from Injury: Preliminary Start List for the Tour of Norway 2024

Wout van Aert is making a comeback after over 8 weeks of injury absence and will star in a world-class peloton when the Tour of Norway kicks off in just three days

Monument winners, Tour de France stage winners, World Championship and Olympic medalists, as well as a reigning European Champion, are among the riders who will compete for the yellow Repsol leader's jersey in this year's edition.

Superstar Wout van Aert is back in competition for Visma | Lease a Bike after the nasty crash in Dwars door Vlaanderen, where he broke his collarbone, sternum, and seven ribs. On the same team, we find the Norwegian talent, Per Strand Hagenes, who might get the chance to ride for his own opportunities on home soil.

Alexander Kristoff is chasing his 11th stage win in the Tour of Norway, and perhaps he will achieve a true hat-trick in Stavanger on May 26th if Kristoff for the third time in a row proves to be the fastest in the sprint in Vågen. Joining him on the Uno-X Mobility team is Danish rider Magnus Cort Nielsen, who has stage wins from all three Grand Tours under his belt, as well as reigning Norwegian champion Fredrik Dversnes, who might dream of arriving solo at the finish line in his hometown of Egersund, wearing the national champion's jersey.

The overall winner of the Tour of Norway 2021, Ethan Hayter, will feature for INEOS Grenadiers, who is joined by Elia Viviani, a 5-time stage winner in the Giro d'Italia and Olympic champion in Omnium on the track. The Spanish climber Oscar Rodriguez, is also a part of the INEOS Grenadiers team.

Lidl-Trek is once again fielding the super talent Thibau Nys, who last year won the 2nd stage up to Ullandhaug in Stavanger after a powerful display in the final hundred meters.

For Bora-hansgrohe, Jordi Meus, who last year took the victory on the Champs Élysées in the final stage of the Tour de France, is among the riders aiming for success in Tour of Norway 2024.

Among the other Norwegian riders who will do their best to achieve results on home soil are Carl Fredrik Hagen (Q36.5 Pro Cycling Team), the Norwegian National Team, and the Norwegian continental team Team Coop – Repsol.

Other notable names include Lorenzo Rota and Rein Taaramäe (Intermarché – Wanty), Koen Bouwman (Visma | Lease a Bike), Adam Toupalik (TDT-Unibet), Anton Palzer, and Ben Zwiehoff (Bora-hansgrohe).
