Flekkefjord

Flekkefjord

The charming coastal town, Flekkefjord, is placed midway between Kristiansand in Southern Norway and Stavanger in Fjord Norway.

Back in the days, parts of the city had strong trade relations with the Netherlands, and a lot of Dutch people moved here. Today, this area is called Hollenderbyen, or The Dutch Quarter in English. The area is known for it´s cobblestone streets and white wood houses, which often is decorated with seasonal flowers.

If you go through the streets of the city, its possible to see some of Norway’s most spectacular street art. Several walls are covered with colorful work of art, which adds a funky element of contrast to the buildings.

In the beautiful nature around Flekkefjord, there is several attractions to visit and explore, such as the “vitamin sea” on the island Hidra, hike to the potholes at Brufjell, or go rail biking at Flekkefjordbanen.
