More teams are ready for Tour of Norway!

Team DSM, Israel - Premier Tech, Lotto Soudal, Human Powered Health og Bardiani CSF Faizanè are ready for Tour of Norway!

The Dutch based World Tour team, Team DSM, has signed the Norwegian talent Jonas Iversby Hvideberg for this years season, where he will be teammates with another Norwegian, Andreas Leknessund. Iversby Hvideberg won the U23 European Road Championships in 2020, while Leknessund won the U23 European Timetrail Championship. Besides Leknessund, the team has several strong riders including Romain Bardet, who was on the podium at Tour de France in 2016 and 2017. The team also has the Danish brothers, Søren- and Asbjørn Kragh Andersen, who both have won the stage to Sandes at Tour des Fjords in 2015 (Søren) and 2016 (Asbjørn).

Israel – Premier Tech has made huge steps since they got status as a WorldTour team in 2020. Andre Greipel retired after the 2021 season, but they still have riders like 4 times winner of Tour de France Chris Froome, Jakob Fuglsang and the winner of the European championships in 2020, Giacomo Nizzolo. Israel – Premier Tech has Norwegian rider Carl Fredrik Hagen in the roster who was 8th in La Vuelta ciclista Espana in 2019., the best result by a Norwegian rider in the GC of a Grand Tour. Hagen didn’t race much last year due to a injury in his shoulder, but was back in shape at the end of the season. He was 4th in Tour of Norway in 2018.

The Belgian based World Tour team, Lotto Soudal, is once again coming to Tour of Norway. The team had a great race last year, where Tosh Van der Sande (now Jumbo-Visma) was second at stage two. The team includes the strong sprinter Caleb Ewan, who has stages in Tour de France and Giro d´Italia, as well as the former World Champion and winner of Paris-Roubaix, Liege-Bastogne-Liege and Tour des Flandres, Philippe Gilbert.

Human Powered Health is coming to Tour of Norway for the first time. The American pro team signed both Kristian Aasvold and August Jensen before this season. Aasvold had to step down to continental level before 2021 but had a really good season for Team Coop and got awarded with a pro contract with Human Powered Health. His highlights in 2021 was 6th place in Tour of Norway and 5th place in Arctic Race of Norway. The team has a really fast sprinter in Arvid de Kleijn, who won the first stage at Presidental Cycling Tour of Turkey last year. “I look forward to the high light of the season, Tour of Norway, and I´m gonna try to improve my 6th place from last years” says Aasvold.

Bardiani CSF Faizanè is a well-established Italian ProTeam. The team has participated in the Giro d´Italia for several years, and we are looking forward to see them in Norway. The team has several Italian profiles including the former Lotto NL Jumbo rider, Enrico Battaglin, who has won three stages at the Giro d´Italia.
