At the same time, the race will be upgraded to 2.PRO status. This means more race days, a higher sporting level, and a new milestone for Norwegian cycling.<\/p>\n<p data-start=\"430\" data-end=\"865\">After a highly successful 2025 edition, where both the men\u2019s and women\u2019s races were held side by side as the only professional stage races in Scandinavia, the Tour of Norway is now taking the next step. The UCI has confirmed the dates for 2026, and following our application to the international cycling federation, the women\u2019s race will now feature an additional stage and a higher status within the international cycling hierarchy.<\/p>\n<blockquote data-start=\"867\" data-end=\"1123\">\n<p data-start=\"869\" data-end=\"1123\">\u201cThis is an important step for Norwegian and Nordic cycling. We want to continue building on equality and quality and create an even bigger cycling celebration for spectators, riders, and teams,\u201d says Roy Hegreberg, race director of the Tour of Norway.<\/p>\n<\/blockquote>\n<p data-start=\"1125\" data-end=\"1288\">The men\u2019s race will continue as a 2.PRO event with four stages, as in 2025, running from May 28 to May 31. In total, the 2026 Tour of Norway will span five days.<\/p>\n<blockquote data-start=\"1290\" data-end=\"1492\">\n<p data-start=\"1292\" data-end=\"1492\">\u201cWe have ambitions to further expand the race for both men and women in the future. The 2026-edition is a testament to that ambition,\u201d says Hegreberg.<\/p>\n<\/blockquote>\n<p data-start=\"1494\" data-end=\"1670\">Another person looking forward to next year\u2019s edition is Alexander Kristoff, who will take on a new role off the bike from 2026 in his recently announced ambassador position.<\/p>\n<blockquote data-start=\"1672\" data-end=\"1985\">\n<p data-start=\"1674\" data-end=\"1985\">\u201cIt is a race that has meant a lot for my career. For me, the highlights are certainly all the stage wins I\u2019ve taken in Stavanger city center, as well as the overall victory in 2019.
