With world-class stars, hungry talents, and a host of Norwegians, everything is set for an action-packed edition of the race in 2025. The provisional start list is now ready as the Tour of Norway kicks off next week.<\/p>\n<p data-start=\"330\" data-end=\"490\">Last year\u2019s winner of the men\u2019s Tour of Norway, <strong data-start=\"378\" data-end=\"395\">Axel Laurance<\/strong>, is back and chasing another overall victory\u2014this time for his new team, <strong data-start=\"469\" data-end=\"489\">INEOS Grenadiers<\/strong>.<\/p>\n<p data-start=\"492\" data-end=\"731\">Alongside experienced riders like <strong data-start=\"526\" data-end=\"545\">Oscar Rodriguez<\/strong> and <strong data-start=\"550\" data-end=\"565\">Omar Fraile<\/strong>, as well as young talents such as <strong data-start=\"600\" data-end=\"617\">Andrew August<\/strong>and newly crowned U.S. time trial champion <strong data-start=\"661\" data-end=\"677\">Artem Shmidt<\/strong>, the British team fields a solid and versatile squad.<\/p>\n<p data-start=\"733\" data-end=\"1071\">Another powerhouse team bringing a strong line-up is <strong data-start=\"786\" data-end=\"817\">Red Bull \u2013 BORA \u2013 Hansgrohe<\/strong>. Leading the charge for them is <strong data-start=\"850\" data-end=\"868\">Maxim Van Gils<\/strong>. The Belgian boasts a victory at Eschborn\u2013Frankfurt and podium finishes in prestigious races like La Fl\u00e8che Wallonne and Strade Bianche\u2014and will undoubtedly be a contender in the overall classification.<\/p>\n<p data-start=\"1073\" data-end=\"1270\"><strong data-start=\"1073\" data-end=\"1097\">Tobias Lund Andresen<\/strong> from <strong data-start=\"1103\" data-end=\"1125\">Team Picnic PostNL<\/strong> has two runner-up finishes from Tour of Norway stages to his name and is likely eager to take the final step to the top of the podium this year.<\/p>\n<p data-start=\"1272\" data-end=\"1874\">Norwegian favorite <strong data-start=\"1291\" data-end=\"1313\">Alexander Kristoff<\/strong> leads the charge for <strong data-start=\"1335\" data-end=\"1353\">Uno-X Mobility<\/strong>, in what looks to be his final Tour of Norway. He\u2019s joined by a seasoned Norwegian team sure to hunt for stage wins on home soil. Last year\u2019s third-place finisher, <strong data-start=\"1518\" data-end=\"1533\">\u00c5dne Holter<\/strong>, is also back for the Norwegian ProTeam\u2014and stands out as their strongest GC hope. In addition to Uno-X, three other all-Norwegian teams will be at the start line in the men\u2019s race: <strong data-start=\"1716\" data-end=\"1738\">Team Coop \u2013 Repsol<\/strong>, <strong data-start=\"1740\" data-end=\"1775\">Lillehammer CK Continental Team<\/strong>, and the <strong data-start=\"1785\" data-end=\"1812\">Norwegian national team<\/strong>. That means plenty of riders for the home crowd to cheer for.<\/p>\n<p data-start=\"1923\" data-end=\"2267\"><strong data-start=\"1923\" data-end=\"1947\">Visma | Lease a Bike<\/strong> is fielding an exciting mix of young climbers and classics specialists. The red-hot <strong data-start=\"2032\" data-end=\"2051\">Matthew Brennan<\/strong> already has seven UCI wins this year\u2014and will be a tough nut to crack. Among his teammates are Norwegian top prospects <strong data-start=\"2171\" data-end=\"2193\">Per Strand Hagenes<\/strong> and <strong data-start=\"2198\" data-end=\"2218\">J\u00f8rgen Nordhagen<\/strong>, both seen as future stars of Norwegian cycling.<\/p>\n<p data-start=\"2269\" data-end=\"2661\"><strong data-start=\"2269\" data-end=\"2292\">Intermarch\u00e9 \u2013 Wanty<\/strong> also includes two Norwegians on their squad for this year\u2019s Tour of Norway. Current U23 Norwegian champion <strong data-start=\"2400\" data-end=\"2417\">Halvor Dolven<\/strong> gets a shot with the pro team, alongside none other than <strong data-start=\"2475\" data-end=\"2497\">Felix \u00d8rn-Kristoff<\/strong>\u2014younger brother of Alexander Kristoff. This will be the first time the two brothers face off in a UCI race, and we\u2019re excited to see who wins the sibling showdown!<\/p>\n<p data-start=\"2663\" data-end=\"2988\">For <strong data-start=\"2667\" data-end=\"2694\">UAE Team Emirates \u2013 XRG<\/strong>, <strong data-start=\"2696\" data-end=\"2732\">Tadej Poga\u010dar\u2019s loyal domestique<\/strong>, <strong data-start=\"2734\" data-end=\"2758\">Vegard Stake Laengen<\/strong>, returns to a Norwegian UCI race for the first time since 2021\u2014when he last rode the Tour of Norway. The powerhouse from Asker will be a key support rider for sprinter <strong data-start=\"2927\" data-end=\"2952\">Juan Sebastian Molano<\/strong> and GC hopeful <strong data-start=\"2968\" data-end=\"2987\">Alessandro Covi<\/strong>.<\/p>\n<p data-start=\"2990\" data-end=\"3291\"><strong data-start=\"2990\" data-end=\"3016\">Unibet Tietema Rockets<\/strong> return for the second year in a row, this time with two Norwegian riders\u2014<strong data-start=\"3090\" data-end=\"3114\">Odd Christian Eiking<\/strong> and <strong data-start=\"3119\" data-end=\"3150\">Cedrik Bakke Christophersen<\/strong>.
