Sola is a great travel destination all year round, and even better by bike. You’ll find rental bikes available in many places throughout Sola.
Perhaps you’ll cycle the North Sea Route and stop at Ølberg for the world’s best soft-serve ice cream? Enjoy lunch at one of the beaches? End the evening with a refreshing dip at Sjøbadet in Tananger?
Sola is known for having some of Norway’s finest beaches. With nearly 60 kilometers of coastline, you have plenty of beautiful places to explore by bike!
Cycling is also a key focus in the region, and in 2021, Sola opened Norway’s first indoor velodrome. The velodrome is actively used by competitive cyclists, but anyone can book a session.
Sola municipality likes to call itself “little, big Sola.” Despite its modest land area of 69 km², the population is approaching 30,000 lively residents. NHO has named us “Norway’s Best Business Municipality” multiple times, most recently in 2024.
We are part of the greater Nord-Jæren metropolitan region, bordering Stavanger, Sandnes, and Klepp. More than 3,000 businesses have set up in the municipality, and every day, 20,000 people commute into Sola for work.
Welcome to Sola!
